International, Global, Worldwide

Why is the slogan not "Think International, Act Local" or "Think Worldwide, Act Local"? Obviously, there's the sound-alike of "global" and "local." This makes it easy to remember and to say. It's a catchy slogan. There may be some subtle differences among the three words. "International" can often refer to transactions between two countries, as in international trade between county A and country B. International organizations frequently have a headquarters in one country and a few offices in other countries. "Worldwide" and "global" are essentially synonymous and wider in scope than "international," although many people see all three terms as synonymous. "Global" is interesting, as "globalism" has taken on some negative connotations recently. With a rise in political nationalism, the idea of being global implies a preference for other parts of the world over your own. However, "global" and "national" need not be antithetical.
