ProQuest acquired the publisher of Index to Theses and Theses.com, Expert Information Ltd. The contents of the abstract and index database, some half million records, represents British and Irish dissertations and master's theses. It dates from 1716 and is growing by about 20,000 records per year. Expert Information was founded by 1986 by Roger Bilboul, chairman of the board of Information Today, Inc., and Monty Hyams, founder of Derwent. They initially acquired the theses database from Aslib in 1986 and expanded it considerably. For ProQuest, the addition of the British and Irish information not only expands its geographic reach but also will add more full text to Expert Information's data.
