NTIS, the U.S. National Technical Information Service, through a joint venture partnership with OCR Services, Inc., began producing the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), replacing the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). The EAR concerns the control of certain exports, re-exports, and activities and implement some anti-boycott law provisions. NTIS's planned improvements include a more robust and user-friendly search engine for the online EAR, an improved single search of all prohibited parties' databases, uploaded pages sent electronically to paper EAR subscribers as soon as a change is made, and changed text clearly identified in replacement pages.
