Open Source or Open Force?

In the January/February 2012 issue of Searcher, I wrote of our library's migration to Koha, the popular open source ILS ("A Small Public Library Goes Open Source," Vol. 20, No. 1, pp. 8-11, 44). I said that the switch was the right choice, although it was made under duress. Koha's "modest price tag made it the only responsible option for a city under fiscal stress." Koha itself is free, but no one in my library has the expertise or the hours to implement it. So we contracted with PTFS's LibLime (liblime.com) to help us with the migration and to host and maintain our database.
