Today, BNA is known as Bloomberg BNA; Westlaw is a division of Thomson Reuters; CCH belongs to Wolters Kluwer; and Lex-isNexis is part of the recently rebranded RELX Group (formerly Reed Elsevier). These shifts and changes are a result of traditional business practices related to mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations. Many of the recent acquisitions made by these global players were designed to keep pace with the competition stemming from younger, more agile startups.
