The membership of the Canadian Library Association (CLA), in operation since 1946, voted to dissolve the Association. In its place will be a proposed Canadian Federation of Library Associations, which it thinks will become a new and more effective voice for Canada's libraries, drawing on the power of existing Province library associations (cla.ca).
