Current expectations are for global oil demand to increase by 1.6% in 2017 to stand at 97.5m bpd. Oil demand in North America, OECD Europe and the OECD Pacific region is expected to remain steady y-o-y. Non-OECD Asia is the key driver behind the projected expansion in overall demand, with demand in the region expected to grow by 4% y-o-y in 2017 to 25.7m bpd.
