Midwest wholesaler targets NE in ethanol expansion plan

Large Midwestern wholesaler U.S. Oil plans to offer gasoline, ethanol supply and blending capability in the Northeast through terminals in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New England. Its goal: To help build an infrastructure to expand ethanol usage and gasoline blending into conventional fuel markets. The hub for U.S. Oil's expansion is Albany, N.Y., where it has teamed with Houston-based BioUrja Energy LLC to buy the former CIBRO Oil Terminal. U.S. Oil holds a 65% stake in the deal. The facility, now renamed the LogiBio Terminal, will continue to supply heavy oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, and heating oil, but ethanol storage has been expanded to make it one of the largest in the Northeast.
