Valero unveils new C-store concept, will convert 1,000 stores to updated look

With the arrival of the New Year comes a new-style Valero C-store.rnThe independent refiner has just opened its 5,500-square-foot "Road Runner" store in San Antonio. The new-look store is larger and brighter than the company's current Valero Corner Stores and devotes more space to foods and meals-to-go.rnThe new features include healthier food choices, such as freshever frozen hot dogs, transfat-free roller grill products, and ready-to-eat salads, cheeses, dips and meat. There is also a self-serve "topping bar" for sandwiches, hot dogsrbaked potatoes and tacos, and premium roast coffee available in several styles, from light roast decaffeinated to medium-roast Columbian to dark roasts of Espresso, French and cappuccino.
