Add temp comp decals to pumps, ExxonMobil urges

ExxonMobil is advising jobbers to install decals on their dispensers advising customers that their pumps do not adjust volumes based on the temperature of the fuel. ExxonMobil started slapping the warning notices on pumps in California and Arizona last year after class action attorneys sued the company, and scores of other refiners and retailers, alleging that they cheat consumers by selling them "hot" fuel - gasoline that has expanded beyond the standard 60 degrees Fahrenheit national standard. The refiner is now in the process of installing the decals at its stations in other states and says it will sell marketers the sale label for 74cts each for stations they own or supply.
