Long-time marketer Musket Oil has signed a gasoline storage and blending joint venture agreement with Russian refiner LukOil and oil trading upstart, Ledge Energy Group LLC, Oil Express learns. Along with its venture partners, Ledge will control about 1 million barrels of storage and blending capacity along the U.S. Gulf Coast, sources say. Musket secured storage at a Magellan terminal in Houston last year where the joint venture will blend both renewable and traditional fuels. Musket owns Love's travel stops, a chain of more than 200 locations along the Gulf Coast, with a growth rate of 18 locations a year. Ledge boasts a pool of former traders or brokers with Star Supply, Louis Dreyfus, Vitol and George E. Warren. Its trading operations focus on the Gulf and East Coast, the Caribbean and Latin America.
