A federal judge has refused to let PMAA intervene in a "blenders' rights" lawsuit pending in North Carolina that pits jobbers against refiners on who should be able to add ethanol to gasoline.rnRefiner trade groups the American Petroleum Institute and the National Petrochemical and Refiners Assn. sued a year ago to overturn a state law that required them to make available a straight-run gasoline at the rack that could be used for ethanol blending by wholesalers. Refiners claim that the law is unconstitutional because it interferes with interstate commerce.
