Equipment firms see some slowdown in fuel retail business

Equipment distributors are counting on gasoline retailers to help them make it through the recession. Although industry sales have slowed, pump and tank firms expect to keep making a profit from retailers.rnFlorida should remain a hot spot for tank sales, at least through year's end, equipment companies believe. They expect to see a spike in sales in September as retailers scramble to comply with double-walled tank requirements. Up to 1,500 stations may not meet the Dec. 31 deadline, and could face closure in January, according to one dealer leader in the state.
