Marketer hit with huge tank fine under EPA consent order

A New York City marketer will pay a $1.4 million fine for violating federal underground tank rules at 21 stations. In a consent order filed by EPA and the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Citygas Gasoline Corp. will also be required to submit reports to EPA for five years on its compliance with regulations, along with proof that it is obeying the rules. EPA also asked for and received an injunction barring any more violations of the regs by Citygas.
