Boating group seeks to block higher ethanol blends

There are about 18 million boats in the U.S. and a leading trade association representing manufacturers is trying to keep a lid on ethanol's share of motor fuel for the marine market.rnThe National Marine Manufacturers Assn. (NMMA) has issued an "action alert" to its members, urging them to tight the effort to get EPA'srnblessing for up to 15% ethanol in motor gasoline. NMMA told boaters that it expects ethanol advocates to file 20,000 or so favorable comments on the proposal and it hopes to generate a greater number of negative responses.
