Citgo Rethinks Terms For Marketer Gift Card Discounts

Citgo has decided to drop the 1% discount that it had offered marketers on sales of its gift card, Oil Express learns. The refiner has notified marketers that it will eliminate the discount March 31. Now, the only way that jobbers can receive the discount is if they provide what Citgo calls "evidence of a marketing plan in place." They may also have to provide "supporting documentation that the discount was passed on to the customer," Citgo says. Having a marketing plan means that the jobber takes part in a Citgo cash discount offer - formerly called the BounceBack program - whereby marketers can offer fuel discounts to customers using Citgo cards.
