Jobber inks heating oil deal with supermarket chain

Citgo isn't the only supplier helping families with winter heating bills. Maine-based marketer Dead River Co. has signed a deal with Hannaford Supermarkets, promising to match up to $ 100,000 in donations collected at the grocery stores from Jan. 11 to Jan. 31. Hannaford promotes the "Share the Warmth" initiative at checkouts in Maine and New Hampshire, asking customers to donate $2 or $5. United Way will distribute the money to eligible families. Current economic conditions have left many struggling to pay their bills for home heat, including some who never needed assistance in the past, says Robert A. Moore, president of Dead River Co.
