Majors kick off summer promotions

Chevron just launched a summer credit card promotion - its "Summer Drive Adventure" - that runs July 1 through Sept. 30. Cardholders are automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a $10,000 family vacation when they use Chevron or Texaco co-branded Visa cards or private label card. Marketers may get a reward too - every completed credit card application that Chevron processes will be entered into monthly drawings for $50 Visa gift cards. At the end of the promotion, entries will also qualify for a grand drawing worth $5,000. Small print says the amount of that prize per employee will be determined by the number of employees at the station. The consumer promotion will include a special website offering instant prizes for both card customers and non-cardholders. Prizes range from flip cameras to beach umbrellas.
