World Fuel moves more business from air to land with latest jobber purchase

Publicly traded World Fuel Services Corp., once known mostly for its operations for airports and seaports, will soon surpass the 1 billion gal/yr mark for land-based refined products. A subsidiary of the company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire select assets of Milwaukee-based Lakeside Oil. Lakeside moved about 350 million gal/yr last year through brands that include BP, ExxonMobil and Citgo, and supplies fuel to more than 250 retailers in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
