Marketers may be cursing the new PCI data security requirements, but equipment companies are doing quite well out of the Visa-imposed mandates.rn"PCI compliance has helped many distributors, service companies and a few manufacturers," according to the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI), a trade group representing the firms. Small service departments are having trouble keeping up with the demand, while companies with larger departments say PCI has been good for business. " With three months to go before the July deadline and distributors in many cases faced with a six-week equipment wait, PCI should continue to drive sales and service for the next three to six months," according to PEI.
