C&S Fuels acquires Scott Petroleum Corp.

C&S Fuels LLC, a family-owned petroleum distributor based in Newport, Arkansas, acquired fuel distributor Scott Petroleum Corp. for an undisclosed price on July 15, OPIS has confirmed. The deal allows Scott Petroleum to keep its name and continue to operate out of its Itta Bena, Mississippi, headquarters. The management team also remains intact, with Solon Scott Jr. as president, according to an announcement. Solon Scott Sr. founded Scott Petroleum in 1935 as Scott Butane Gas Systems Inc., and Solon Scott Jr. took over leadership of the company in 1957. The firm offers LPG, gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, aviation fuel, kerosene, oil and grease, sold through 14 bulk plants serving north-central Mississippi and eastern Arkansas and Louisiana.
