Trends: Gas demand to stay under 2019 level through 2022

In the Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), the U.S. EnergyInformation Administration on Wednesday acknowledgedstrength in U.S. gasoline demand recovery but does notexpect 2021 consumption levels to surpass 2019.During the first half of the year, EIA said gasolineconsumption averaged 8.5 million b/d, which representedthe lowest first half of a year since 2001.
