The latest data from the EIA contained a bright spot about gasoline demand, even with concerns that rising cases of COVID-19 around the country could lead to a reversal of some gains made since the height of the pandemic last spring. EIA data put gasoline demand for the week ending Oct. 2 at 8.896 million b/d, a week-on-week jump of 367,000-b/d and a decisive break out of the 8.4 million-8.5 million b/d range that demand has seen over the past month.
