Energy bulls received a shot in the arm with this week’s data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which showed there was still some life left in gasoline demand in the waning weeks of summer. Gasoline inventories fell by 2.2 million bbl during the most recent week, placing them 3% lower than the fiveyear average. That decline came as demand, as measured by products supplied, rose by 239,000 b/d, to 9.57 million b/d – a strong number likely only to be topped one more time this year during the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
