Study suggests many retailers not complying with PCI standards

A just-released Verizon study suggests many retailers of all types fail to comply with all 12 of the key formal data security standards set by the payment card industry. The retail segment lags behind all other sectors studied, with only 16.7% of organizations fully complying with all 12 requirements. Retailers in the 2020 Verizon Payment Security Report also saw a 19.7-percentage point drop in full compliance in 2019 from the prior year.
