M&A: U.S. Venture grows biz with AOT Energy purchase

Fast-growing U.S. Venture just added another substantial portion of energy business to its portfolio, via its U.S. Oil subsidiary. The company closed on the purchase of the rack business of AOT Energy Americas, giving it a greater foothold in the Midcontinent and other regions. AOT Energy Americas was founded in 2016 as a descendant of sorts of the trading company Astra, which was once one of the largest international trading companies in the world. They no longer have an active presence in energy trading, but at one point held interests in what is now Chevron’s Pasadena, Texas, refinery as well as the Tacoma refinery currently operated by Par Pacific.
