Shell said it plans to launch electric vehicle fast-chargers at a number ofits gas stations in the United States in the next five years.“We aspire to provide EV drivers the same exceptional customerexperience that they have now when filling up with traditional fuels,” Shellofficials told Oil Express.The major pointed out that earlier this year it announced the acquisitionof Greenlots, a California-based company that provides EV charging posts,charging network software and grid services across the United States andother countries.While Shell is currently not providing financial assistance to help get itsbranded marketers into the EV charging business, the company is “actively engaged in looking at commercial solutions for those that might choose toinvest in different fuels.”Shell devoted a session during its recent branded wholesalerconvention in Los Angeles to alternative fuels.
