The City of Edmonton is taking a close look at the difference between its police officers and its peace officers, who sometimes must handle violent situations that escalate beyond their training and authority.rnThe city has commissioned a consultant to carry out a review, opting to suspend expansion of the peace officer program until that report is completed this fall.
