The application of the additive defoamer/antifoamer, CBP-Series AF, in offshore facilities was based on the need for a unique and concentrated (undiluted) product free of silicon and fluorine, considering in its composition biodegradable products, acceptable dosage, practical management, and an application that was technically and economically feasible. The concentrated injection of CBP-AF ended with competitive dosing without the need to use a diluent, facilitating its application and reducing risk to personnel in the area of injection. For both separation systems, satellite platform and offshore process center, injection of non-silicon antifoamer/defoamer was successfully used to solve foaming. Uniform stability was maintained with optimized dosages relative to the consumption of silicon-based antifoaming additive (up to 17 ppm to treat an average 30,000 b/d in the satellite platform and 29 ppm to treat an average 99,000 b/d in the process center). As gas/oil relations increase, non-silicon-based antifoamers/defoamers offer a solution to offshore foaming problems.
