Atlantic oil and gas could revive US economy

A study recently released by the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) and the American Petroleum Institute (API) shows that opening up the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) to offshore oil and natural gas development could have remarkable benefits in terms of job creation, domestic investment, revenue to the government and energy security. Apart from the benefits described in the report, if exploration and production activity did get underway on the US Atlantic coast it could also have a dramatic effect on the offshore support vessel sector, and on the supply chain serving it.
