Several of the major Norwegian players released their end-of-year financial results towards the end of the first quarter, highlighting the fact that 2013 was a relatively strong year from their perspective. Most owners active in the North Sea reported improved operating incomes, and spoke of the advancements they have made to their fleets of platform supply vessels (PSVs) and anchor-handling tug/supply (AHTS) vessels, both in terms of number and technology. Others, meanwhile, took the opportunity to give their views on the direction with which the offshore support vessel (OSV) market in both the North Sea and internationally is heading, with a somewhat mixed bag of viewpoints.
