ALP Maritime Services acquired by Teekay

ALP Maritime Services has been acquired by Teekay Offshore Partners. As part of the deal, ALP has placed an order for four anchor handling tugs (AHTs) at Niigata Shipyard in Japan. The four vessels, which will be called the 'ALP Future-class' will be of the Ulstein SX 157 design. The vessels are specially designed for ultra-long distance towage with 24,400 bhp and a bollard pull of 280 tonnes. They are due to be delivered between the end of 2015 and early 2016.
