August 2015 saw Solstad Offshore announce that it would put 13 vessels - around a quarter of its fleet - into layup. Three vessels in the company's fleet were already laid up, but another 10 are due to cease operations, such is the state of the market. Announcing details of its latest results, the company said operating revenue for the second quarter was NKr1,060 million (US$122.3 million), and cashflow from operations (EBITDA) for the same period was NKr480 million (US$55.4 million). Solstad's operating revenue for the first half of 2015 was NKr1,970 million (US$227.3 million), and EBITDA for the first half year was NKr890 million (US$102.7 million). A large number of redundancies are also expected as a result of the vessels being laid up.
