June 2017 saw Solstad and Farstad, two of the biggest, best-known offshore vessel owners in Norway, become one as they completed a merger that also included Deep Sea Supply and Rem Offshore, which Solstad had earlier acquired. Speaking at the time that the deal was finalised, Lars Peder Solstad, the new company's chief executive, noted that the new entity was based on the proud heritage of several leading offshore support vessel (OSV) companies.
