Tasik Toba making good progress

At a ceremony held at Fujian Mawei Shipyard in Fuzhou, China, on 25 August 2015, first steel was struck for Tasik Toba by founder and CEO of Tasik Subsea John Giddens. The company said the vessel is "already ahead of schedule". It is a 105m dynamic positioning class 3 subsea vessel with built-in saturation and air diving with full dual remotely operated vehicle capability. Tasik Subsea was set up by John Giddens and Mike Meade to design, build and own subsea vessels. John Giddens, who built Hallin Marine into a global subsea services player, re-entered the industry last year when he announced plans to build the new vessel. Hallin was sold to the US-based Superior Energy Inc in 2010 for more than £100 million. Tasik Toba is due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2017.
