IMCA issues lifting guidance documents

"Not surprisingly, lifting plays an important role in our work programme," said Jane Bugler, technical director, International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), "and the next few months we will see the return of our rope forum to Amsterdam, the issue of new guidance and the publication of updated versions of two of our invaluable guidance documents. The rope forum returns to Amsterdam on 14 May with a day-long programme on continuous monitoring systems for high value subsea construction ropes: wire, fibre and hybrids. On average, the forum attracts 90 plus delegates, including subsea contractors, wire rope manufacturers, system designers and suppliers, equipment suppliers and academics. Manufacturers are able to talk to other manufacturers, bouncing ideas off each other. Similarly, operators can talk to one another and to the manufacturers. Everyone is open - all are there to learn from each other's experience.
