Aberdeen firm to provide purpose-built ERRV

March saw Aberdeen-based Sentinel Marine awarded a contract for a new emergency vessel for Statoil's Mariner field. The contract, awarded by Statoil (UK) Ltd, will see Sentinel Marine provide a new multirole emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) to support operations on the Mariner field on the UK Continental Shelf. Sentinel Marine owns and operates a number of vessels that support vessels in the offshore oil and gas industry. The 65m vessel, to be named Mariner Sentinel, will be custom built for Statoil and provide emergency cover, fire fighting, oil spill response preparedness and tanker assist capabilities for the Mariner field.
