Cost-effective DSVs slot in alongside larger units

Speaking at the 2015 Annual OSJ Conference, Awards & Exhibition in February 2015 in London, Dr Stuart N Smith, VP asset development at Subsea 7, described the design of the company's new diving support vessel (DSV) Seven Kestrel, which is due to enter service later this year. He compared the capability of Seven Kestrel with Seven Atlantic and Seven Falcon, which entered service in 2011. Both are extremely high capability vessels, designed to be cost-effective for long, multifield campaigns with different diving depths and split-level diving. Both are fully NORSOK compatible, and Seven Atlantic was designed to fulfil the specific operational requirements of a major operator.
