A little over 12 months ago at the 2014 Annual OSJ Conference, one of the most respected commentators on the offshore vessel market, Geir Sjurseth, managing director and global head offshore finance at DVB Bank, told delegates he had never seen so much liquidity in the market. He had never seen "so much liquidity chasing offshore business," he explained. The market looked fantastic, he said, but as ever, there was a risk of too many jack-ups and vessels being ordered. Were we approaching the peak of the market, and was another boom in the industry under way, or had the peak already been passed, asked Mr Sjurseth?
