Rules and regulations are constantly evolving, so much time is spent by the industry to understand new requirements and assess their impact on vessel design and operation. This is particularly true for the offshore support vessel (OSV) sector, as OSVs, by the very nature of their diverse operational profiles, are exposed to a wide variety of different regulations. So do regulatory changes drive the development of OSV design and technology? And is that a desirable situation?
