Ghana's developing oil industry continues to go from strength to strength, with Tullow recently announcing a new discovery on the Tano licence, oil majors expressing an interest in future exploration, the emergence of production opportunities, and a steady flow of OSV fixtures and requirements. The Ghanaian government is also thinking of the future, with plans to develop the country's ports and oil and gas infrastructure with a multi-billion dollar loan from China, in the hope of creating a well-equipped and stable area for vessel owners to use for maintenance, and perhaps even shipbuilding, although projects on that kind of scale are still many years away.
