Another GulfMark PSV, the 2,346 dwt Esplanade, moved to Trinidad to work for BP in February 2011 following months of availability on the US Gulf spot market. Trinmar, part of state oil company Petrotrin, is currently drilling at the Soldado field with Well Services Ltd. jackup Well Services Rig 110. The rig is under contract until March 2012. Three rigs are currently en route to Trinidad. Rowan jackup Rowan Gorilla 111 is expected to begin drilling in September for Sinopec, followed by contracts with Niko and Bayfield Energy that could keep it busy offshore Trinidad until late 2013.
