March was a quiet month for newbuild activity in Europe, both in terms of orders and deliveries. As it came to an end, Sartor Offshore ordered a large PSV of Havyard 832 L design, at a price of around NOK 300 million (USD 53.6 million), to be built at the Havyard Leirvik shipyard. The 4,200 dwt vessel, with a deck area of 900 square-metres, is due for delivery in January 2012 with an option to purchase another PSV of the same design, which would be delivered in June the same year. Commenting on the new purchase, Roy Wareberg, CEO of Sartor Offshore, said: "The contract is based on optimism within the industry. Currently, the vessel does not have a contract, however, the energy in the market is intensifying and we regard the decision to build as forward looking and the right decision."
