Libya is continuing to dominate the headlines, not just in the Mediterranean but around the world, as Gaddafi's refusal to back down in the face of opposition from his own people and the rest of the world has led to UN and NATO involvement in the conflict. A no-fly zone has been imposed across the country, with Allied troops from France and Britain, among others, making bombing raids on strategic targets within the major cities, including the main OSV ports of Misrata and Tripoli. One vessel, the UT722 Asso 22, has been detained by Libyan authorities in Tripoli, with some commentators speculating this was in response to Italy, once Gaddafi's friend in Europe, joining the military action against him.
