The downward trend for newbuild orders continued in September, with only a handful coming in from three ship owners, and one order placed by an undisclosed client. Edison Chouest Offshore added eight 5,150 dwt PSVs to its order book of 25 vessels that are under construction at shipyards around the world. Siem Offshore, meanwhile, having won a long-term contract with Total, has put in an order for a large dual-fuelled PSV. The newbuild will be committed to Total on a four-year firm charter, plus four years of options commencing between May and August 2014.
