Most of the newbuild orders in July came from Norwegian owners, with Deep Sea Supply topping the list during the month with 12 4,500 dwt PSVs of the PX105 design at Sinopacific Shipyard in China for sister company Seatankers. The operator is rumoured to be spending USD 420 million on these new vessels. According to industry sources, it also intends to purchase an additional four PSVs from an undisclosed Chinese shipyard. Nigeria's Slok Shipping adds itself to the list, meanwhile, with orders for four 3,700 dwt PSVs of the SPP35 design, and two larger SPP50-design PSVs, also with Sinopacific.
