Following a relatively quiet period of newbuild ordering activity, vessel owners have gone back to the shipyards to order new tonnage, with PSVs proving to be the vessel of choice.India-based Global Offshore (formerly Garware) has ordered a PSV of Havyard 832 design to be built at the Havyard Leirvik shipyard, Norway, at a cost of NOK 270 million (USD 45 million). The 4,000 dwt vessel is scheduled for delivery in July 2013. There is the option for another vessel of the same design, with delivery of that one scheduled for March 2014.
