With summer approaching, vessel owners might have been expecting day rates to be nearing peak levels given that demand is traditionally high during the middle months of the year. And with 2012 starting off stronger for vessel owners than 2011, this positivity was added to further. Cue the month of May, however, to dampen that positivity.
