There may have been major political changes in Libya in recent months, but the situation for oil companies and vessel owners operating in the region is still as difficult as it was in the days of Muammar Gaddafi. Of course, the transitional government has more important things to deal with than reforming an oil industry that is bogged down in bureaucracy and red tape, but that does mean it is the same old companies which are picking up work in Libya, rather than the market being opened up to other operators.
