Danish vessel owner Maersk Supply Service has placed an order for two 15,000 bhp AHTS vessels to be built at the Asenav shipyard in Chile, at a total cost of approximately USD 200 million. The vessels will have a bollard pull of 150 tonnes and have been designed for operations in Canada, including ice management and standby duties. Delivery of the two newbuilds is expected in February 2014 and January 2015. Maersk also has options to order up to four more AHTS vessels of the same design at the yard.
